“Continue Watching” is a new feature for select ESPN Video on Demand (VOD) content. The Continue Watching feature works similarly to other streaming services by allowing you to pause watching your desired content then resume where you left off at a later time.
Beginning in January 2022, the Continue Watching feature will start appearing on some VOD content. Initially, the Continue Watching feature will be available for tvOS, FireTV, AndroidTV, and Xbox. However, additional platforms (Roku, PS, etc.) will gain the feature as it rolls out.
KEY POINTS
- The Continue Watching feature is available on iOS, tvOS, Android, FireTV, and Xbox.
- Roku, Samsung TV, X1/X1 Flex, and Playstation 4/5 are coming in the future.
- The Continue Watching feature will be available for all Long Form VOD content (ie shows) including TVE and ESPN+ VOD.
- The Continue Watching feature will NOT be available for Short Form VOD content (ex short clips).
- When Continue Watching is available, you will see a new “Continue Watching” row in the Featured and ESPN+ tabs. In addition, you will see slight changes on the series and film content pages as well. Other content pages (such as leagues) will not reflect these changes during the initial launch.
- PLEASE NOTE: You must be logged in to access the feature, even if you are subscribed to ESPN+ or logged into a TV provider.
- You can also remove content from your Continue Watching row via the contextual menu.
