To join a Tournament Challenge group, you must first create a bracket entry.
Quick Summary
You must create a bracket before joining a group.
Go to My Groups → Create or Join a Group.
Select the group and add your bracket.
Group entry limits are controlled by the Group Creator.
If the app isn’t working, try joining through a web browser.
Step 1: Create a Bracket Entry
Before you can join a group, you must create at least one bracket.
Go to the My Bracket menu.
Select Create a Bracket.
Complete the bracket creation process.
IMPORTANT: You do not need to make your picks right away. Simply creating the bracket is enough to join a group.
Step 2: Join or Rejoin a Group
Once your bracket is created:
Go to the My Groups menu.
Select Create or Join a Group.
You will be taken to the Group Directory.
Search for or select the group you want to join.
Click Join/Rejoin to open the group page.
Step 3: Add Your Bracket to the Group
After opening the group page:
Scroll down to the section labeled Select a bracket to add to the group.
Use the checkbox to select the bracket you want to enter.
Click Join Group to complete the process. Your bracket will now appear in the group standings.
Entry Limits
Each group may limit the number of brackets a single user can enter.
This setting is called Group Entries Per User and is shown in the group’s information section.
Only the Group Creator can change this setting.
If you are unable to add another bracket, you may have reached the group’s entry limit.
Having Trouble Joining in the Mobile App?
If you’re experiencing issues joining a group in the ESPN Tournament Challenge mobile app:
Try using a web browser (such as Google Chrome).
Go to ESPN.com and join the group from there.
After joining, log out of the app and log back in to refresh your groups.
