Fans in the New England Region will see a new “Streams” button displayed for Boston Bruins and Red Sox games airing on NESN. This option will appear on both the ESPN app and ESPN.com.
Tapping the Streams button will take you to the equivalent NESN experience (e.g., app or website), where you can sign up for NESN’s subscription service and stream Bruins and Red Sox games.
NOTE: Because NESN’s cable channel is only available to fans within the New England Designated Market Area (DMA), the “Streams” button will only be displayed for fans in the New England area. Fans outside New England are geo-restricted and will not see the “Streams” button for NESN games.
The Streams button will be enabled in the following sections of the ESPN app and website:
- Homefeed
- Scores
- Gamecast
- Red Sox and Bruins Team + League Clubhouses
HOW DOES IT WORK?
For fans in the New England Designated Market Area (DMA) only, the Streams button will appear next to Bruins and Red Sox games on NESN. All streaming of NESN content takes place within NESN products. ESPN will simply link you to the applicable NESN app/website.
Tapping the Streams button launches a menu that enables you to connect to the equivalent NESN experience (see below), sign up for NESN’s subscription service, and stream Bruins and Red Sox games.
- Fans using the ESPN app will be directed to the NESN app (or app store if you haven't already downloaded the NESN app.
- Fans using ESPN.com will be directed to NESN.com

Why am I not seeing the NESN button?
Please verify that you are in the New England DMA. Due to our geo-restriction logic, fans outside of the New England DMA will not see the “Streams” button.
Will other networks be included?
While we are in discussion with future partners on a similar treatment, the initial marketplace launch will only include NESN.
I’m in the right location; why am I not seeing this on my app?
Verify that you are on the correct version of the ESPN app. The “Streams” buttons will only be visible to users on version 7.3 and above.
What happens if I click on Streams as a current NESN subscriber?
You will need to log in with your NESN credentials. Please note that you can only access Streams while in the New England DMA.
