Fixing a Blank Screen or Spinning Wheel Issue

Playback issues include buffering, freezing, or other related errors, but you may also run into connection issues like a blank screen or spinning wheel. If you experience one of these problems while watching a live event or original content on ESPN+, we recommend trying the respective troubleshooting steps below. 

Blank screen

Ensure that you do not have a content filter, antivirus application, proxy accelerator or pop-up blocker enabled. If you do, disable these services and try again.

Spinning wheel

If you’re seeing a spinning wheel when using the ESPN app, please follow these steps: 

  1. Refresh, close, or restart your web browser or app and open it again
  2. Close other applications on your device that may be running at the same time
  3. If your device is on a mobile 3G, 4G or 5G network, try using a Wi-Fi network for more reliable video streaming
