Moving Players on and off of the Injured Reserve (IR) and Injury List (IL)

The system will automatically place the IR (injured reserve) or Injury List (IL) tag on a player once ESPN receives the league report. 

NOTE: Only players with the (IR), (IL), or (O) tag can be placed on the IR (injured reserve)/Injury List (IL) slot. All other players must be moved to the bench if you do NOT want them on the active roster.

NOTE: IR/IL is available in all Standard leagues and only in League Managers that use IR/IL slot(s). If you don't see the link, let your League Manager know they need to add this feature.

• League Managers can enable IR/IL slots in a league by going under the LM Tools tab and selecting Edit League Settings.

Managing IR on the ESPN Fantasy App

1. On your team's Roster page, click on the IR or IL button
2. ​You will be provided with a short list of players eligible for the IR/IL slot and a list of either open slots or players already in those slots.
3. Tap To IR/IL to move the player into an open slot
4. If you have no open slots, you will need to select a player to move from IR/IL by tapping on the Activate button.
5. You will see a confirmation pop-up as this change is automatically saved.

Managing IR on ESPN.com

1. Click on the Manage IR/IL link at the top of your team page a
2. You will be shown a short list of IR/IL eligible players. Click on To IR/IL to place them in an available IR/IL slot. NOTE: If all of your IR/IL slots are occupied, you will need to Activate a player to make the change.

To move a player back from IR to your active roster, follow the same steps:

1. Click on the Manage IR/IL link at the top of your team page a

2. You will be shown a short list of players in your IR/IL. Click on Activate a player to move the player to your active roster.
